London, May 6th 2008 --
IKON Office Solutions (UK), the largest independent provider of document management systems and
services, has been appointed to upgrade the Halifax Bank of Scotland (HBOS) Group’s entire desktop
printing environment.
From 2008, IKON is responsible for every one of the estimated three billion pages that will be printed by
the HBOS Group’s 70,000 users, during a six-year contract period.
Ian Millington, Head of Print Management Services says “We are pleased to engage IKON’s expertise in
delivering a desktop printing solution that will increase productivity and efficiency in all areas of the
HBOS Group.”
Support staff will be supplied by IKON to manage the migration of HBOS’ print away from printers and
on to multi-functional devices (MFD), through a rules-based printing platform. Over 2000 new Ricoh
MFD’s are expected to be installed and a user education campaign has been designed to ensure a
smooth transition.
The contract continues IKON’s longstanding relationship with HBOS and Steve Walters, Sales Director
for IKON’s Strategic Corporate Accounts team, said: “We are delighted to extend our commitment to
this valued IKON customer, by providing a fully-managed service MPS contract that covers the entire
HBOS Group.”
