London – 20 February, 2009 – IKON Office Solutions, PLC, a Ricoh company, recognised the loyalty of longstanding employees at their annual Long Service Awards at Claridge’s, on Friday 6 February.
The exclusive event is an established feature for staff with 20 years or more of continuous service with IKON, during its many guises. However, IKON’s loyalty scheme extends further as people with 10 years or more service qualify for a certificate, a cash bonus and extra holiday entitlement. In all, 138 people were formally recognised for their contribution to the company, but the toast of Claridge’s this time round went to 62 of those with two decades or more under their belts, at IKON Office Solutions.
Phil Keoghan, President IKON UK, has seen many changes during his tenure and saves a special place for the ceremony, commenting: “IKON’s Long Service Awards is one of my personal highlights of the year as I place great value on rewarding experience and loyalty. The fact that we’re still hosting such a wonderful internal occasion in these challenging external times is a testament to both IKON and the individuals involved.”
One of this year’s IKON employees eligible for the prize, Steve Ellis, a Customer Service Supervisor from Essex, added: “It was great to go to a place like Claridge’s and celebrate with so many colleagues and friends. I even met a few ‘new’ faces as well – here’s to the next 20 years!”
